This role also includes technical support, inspection, and workflow coordination with other trades and departments. You will act as the substitute for the Department Manager when needed and play a key role in driving continuous improvement in work techniques and documentation. Key Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day pipe department operations, ensuring alignment with policies and procedures
Ensure health and safety standards are upheld as a top priority
Review and follow up on project schedules and intervene as needed to meet contractual timelines
Implement and promote innovative work techniques and improved documentation processes
Liaise with other departments and trades to ensure coordinated project execution
Conduct regular inspections of worksites (workshop, offices, and onboard vessels)
Approve material requisitions and resolve issues related to rejected work
Halt operations if quality standards are not being met
Act as deputy to the Department Manager during absences
Assign daily work priorities based on operational needs and deadlines
Maintain accurate records of work progress, safety incidents, and improvement opportunities
Job Requirements
Graduate in Engineering discipline
Minimum 10 years of experience in a shipyard or offshore setting with strong piping knowledge
Familiarity with international safety and quality standards including ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to manage cross-functional coordination and resource optimization
Experience in project planning, workflow management, and technical inspections
