Physical Logistics Team Leader Grade: 5 Location: Dhahran, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Saudi Maintenance and Supply Chain Management Company (SMSCMC), a BAE Systems majority owned joint venture Company as Physical Logistics Team Leader The role involves the operational short to medium term coordination and supervision of safe receipt, storage, pick, pack, dispatch and transportation activities in order to deliver customer requirements within timescales set. Also supervises and coordinates the planning of logistics activity and the resolution of queries/issues through interface with other teams/organisations. Ensure motivation and effective utilisation of workforce, adherence to SHE, Quality and other internal and external regulations. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Ensure the effective management of Physical Logistics activities by meeting delivery targets, monitoring progress and developing performance improvement programmes. Prioritises activities within/across teams to maximise efficiency. Ensure all Physical Logistics activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems (IT / paper based). Compile required reporting, identify any issues and escalate as appropriate. Manage the Physical Logistics teams compliance with the Part 145 Exposition, its associated procedures and standards, and any other company procedures and standards, as applicable. Identify, propose and implement change as required, whilst ensuring compliance. Promote the application of Human Factors, Error Management, Risk Management and Safety Assurance within the Physical Logistics team(s), together with the proactive analysis, mitigation and management of Hazards. Ensure Physical Logistics team's activities are compliant with the SMSCMC Governance and Assurance framework. Ensure Process Confirmations and independent assurance audits are supported by Physical Logistics personnel and integrated within/across teams. Manage the response to audit findings in a timely and appropriate manner and provide information into the relevant reviews. Generate and implement effective improvements within/across teams to overcome any non-compliance and monitor effectiveness. Able to demonstrate a good understanding and application of the relevant Continuing Airworthiness Regulatory framework, and ensure any regulatory-driven changes are implemented within the Physical Logistics teams activities. Ensure compliance with all other requirements, e.g. ITAR, EaPW, ISO, etc. Ensure compliance with all applicable contractual requirements, e.g. through support to contract reviews, and ensure any changes are implemented into the Physical Logistics activities, as appropriate. Ensure all associated work is carried out in accordance with SMSCMC policy and has the general awareness of the Competency Framework. Management and maintenance of effective working relationships with all stakeholders to ensure collaborative working. Proactively manage problems and issues arising. Recording and tracking resolution of each in order to achieve line parts and assemblies requirements. Alignment of the medium term planning activity within the day to day operation of Physical Logistics. Compilation and review of the logistics service performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and ensure correct targets are set for the team. Ensure that departmental plans and appropriate policy and procedure are in place and fully implemented in order to meet departmental objectives. Provide supervision and coordination for a team, ensure that team members are fully motivated, trained, capable and able to generate work output of a quality to meet all requirements of the business, customer and contract. Ensure that all team members are fully deployed and that the work of the team is completed on time, to schedule and achieve quality requirements. Ensure that department procedures and process are in place and adopted to ensure safe working and safe working conditions for all staff. RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Requires in depth knowledge of the workings of a warehouse / logistics operation and the importance of compliance with Part 145 regulations. Requires excellent planning and expediting knowledge and skills and can demonstrate good experience of using asset tracking / warehouse and planning systems. In depth knowledge of customer and supplier logistics documentation. Requires excellent relationship building and problem solving skills. Requires team leader knowledge, team leadership, budget control, planning, performance management and reporting Required: Good IT literacy skills and in depth knowledge of asset tracking / MRP systems.
