Role Summary
ADNOC Group is hiring a Petrophysicist to lead the analysis and evaluation of petrophysical data for unconventional shale and tight gas reservoirs. The role supports exploration, appraisal, and development strategies by integrating well logs, cores, seismic data, and drilling operations into consistent reservoir models. The position provides technical input for field development plans and ensures sustainable production and injection performance under optimal technical and economic conditions.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct petrophysical property characterization using well logs, cores, remote sensing, and geologic analogues.
  • Interpret and evaluate petrophysical data to determine hydrocarbon presence, fluid contacts, rock properties, and reservoir quality.
  • Integrate datasets into petrophysical models for incorporation into static and dynamic reservoir models.
  • Propose and manage logging, coring, and analysis programs to ensure state-of-the-art practices are applied.
  • Facilitate and control quality of petrophysical data processing delivered by contractors.
  • Provide input for exploration, appraisal, and development phases through reports, plots, and reservoir models.
  • Liaise with Upstream Information Management to maintain archives of logs and cores.
  • Stay updated with technological advances in unconventional petrophysics and evaluate their application within ADNOC.
  • Support training and development of UAE Nationals and graduate engineers, providing structured development programs.
  • Contribute inputs for daily, weekly, and monthly departmental reports and drilling updates.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent, with advanced coursework in petrophysics, applied physics, or mathematics.
  • At least 8 years of experience in geosciences, drilling, reservoir, or petroleum engineering.
  • Strong background in petrophysical analysis for unconventional reservoirs.
  • Knowledge of reservoir modeling, volumetric prediction, and production planning.
  • Familiarity with mass data integration, real-time logging, and digital systems for data management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor and support development of junior staff and national graduates.
