Position Overview
Operations Planning and Optimization Superintendent in Abu Dhabi, UAE leads the planning, coordination, and supervision of oil and gas production, processing, export, and injection operations across ADNOC Group's upstream Oil & Energy facilities. This role focuses on maximizing production efficiency, ensuring surface and subsurface integrity, managing shutdown planning, and maintaining strict compliance with HSE Management Systems while supporting sustainability initiatives such as CO2 injection and enhanced oil recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise oil, gas, water, ESP, gas lift, and CO2 injection operations to achieve mandated production and injection KPIs.
  • Review operating data against production targets and design operating envelopes, identifying deviations and recommending corrective actions.
  • Coordinate alarm rationalization programs and ensure compliance with alarm management KPIs.
  • Conduct Field Technical Rate and Field Capacity Tests to identify bottlenecks and optimize facility performance.
  • Oversee FSOPR, Reservoir Monitoring Programs, and Water Alternating Gas operations in alignment with business plans.
  • Coordinate integrated shutdown planning, optimize shutdown execution, and ensure compliance with approved schedules.
  • Lead troubleshooting of chronic plant and surface facility issues and participate in root cause analysis for critical equipment failures.
  • Prepare analytical performance reports, monitor operational trends, and update operating procedures for safe and cost-efficient operations.
  • Engage in project lifecycle activities including design reviews, value engineering, HAZOP, HAZID, OHID, SIL, and Ready For Commissioning walkdowns.
  • Represent operations in new technology trials and ensure Management of Change processes are followed for operational improvements.
  • Participate in Tactical Response Team and Incident Management Team activities during emergencies.
  • Monitor facility integrity and coordinate subsurface integrity investigations such as communication tests, BCI, and SAP assessments.
  • Contribute to departmental budgeting, cost optimization, and capital planning initiatives.
  • Supervise and develop team members to enhance competency and operational excellence.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • Extensive experience in oil and gas production, injection operations, and facility optimization within large upstream environments.
  • Strong understanding of alarm management, shutdown planning, reservoir monitoring, and integrity management processes.
  • Proven expertise in risk assessment, HAZOP participation, and process safety management.
  • Experience with Management of Change systems and project coordination.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
