Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Oncologist to join our healthcare team on Nauru Island. The successful candidate will provide specialized care for patients with cancer and related conditions, contribute to early detection and prevention initiatives, and support the development of oncology services within the island's healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and manage patients with various forms of cancer. Develop individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy coordination, and palliative care. Provide consultations and follow-up care for oncology patients. Work collaboratively with general practitioners, surgeons, pathologists, and nursing teams to deliver integrated care. Participate in cancer awareness, screening, and prevention programs. Maintain detailed medical records in compliance with hospital and national regulations. Provide training and mentorship to local medical and nursing staff. Contribute to improving oncology infrastructure and protocols within the health service.

Qualifications & Requirements

Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with recognized specialization in Oncology (Medical, Clinical, or Radiation Oncology). Valid medical license or eligibility . Minimum 3-5 years of post-specialization experience in oncology practice. Experience in resource-limited or small island healthcare settings is an asset. Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills. Commitment to patient-centred, culturally sensitive care.
