Basic Function

The role requires the delivery of a comprehensive occupational health (OH) service to Saudi Aramco, Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) employees and contractors when directed. The primary and overall role of this position is to ensure that employees are fit for their work, can carry out duties safely and productively, and that work does not have any negative impact on their health or safety. The principle and guiding objective is to secure and maintain the highest level of physical, mental and social health and well-being of Saudi Aramco and JHAH employees.

Scope

Provides professional services across the five operational regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as directed by Specialist Practitioner the team leader. OH delivers services across all regions and business lines e.g. Utilities, Processing plants, Onshore and offshore rigs, Pipelines, workshops, field equipment maintenance, material supplies, office-and field-based engineering and technical functions and administrative services. Occupational Health staff are required to travel throughout the Kingdom to deliver OH services, which on occasion may require an overnight stay. The role requires flexibility outside normal working hours in order to travel or in the event of an emergency situation.

Principal Contacts

Daily with other OH Practitioners and Team Leader, Unit Head, and various unit supervisors and advisors of the Department to coordinate teamwork surveys; and with Occupational Medicine Specialists, nurses and administrators of JHAH to implement OH Programs. Frequently with supervisors of other Departments in JHAH and Saudi Aramco.

Principal Duties

Case management based on the biopsychosocial model of disability. Determine and deliver relevant health surveillance programs for identified job groups. Monitor developments in legislation and best practice relating to occupational health and provide appropriate direction to managers and supervisors. Carry out periodic medical screening and examination. Pre-employment assessments. Managing of Hearing Conservation Program. Assist supervisors and managers on aspects of sickness absence. Record all occupational health activities in the electronic medical system. Manage Illnesses and Injuries at work. Ensure all equipment required for clinical assessment is regularly maintained and calibrated. Understand OH Practitioners roles and responsibilities with reference to the relevant General Instructions (GIs), Medical Services

Education

Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Nursing and/or health-related sciences from an accredited university.

Experience

Minimum 6 years experience in the field of occupational health satisfactory to the Division Chief.

Certifications/Other requirements as applicable

Valid Saudi medical license. Occupational Health Certification preferred. National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) certificate is preferred. Qualification in Occupational Health Case Management preferred. Spirometry certificate. Audiology certificate. Fluency in English language and medical terminology. Fluency in Arabic preferred but not required
