Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated

Nursery Deputy Manager

to assist in the daily management and operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will support the Nursery Manager in ensuring high-quality early years care and education, maintaining compliance with all relevant standards and regulations, and leading the team to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Nursery Manager in the overall day-to-day running of the nursery. Ensure all children receive high-quality care and early education in line with EYFS (or local early years framework). Supervise, motivate, and support nursery staff to maintain high professional standards. Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate activities. Maintain accurate child records, attendance, and developmental progress reports. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding policies. Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and external agencies. Step in to lead the nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager. Support staff development through training, mentoring, and performance reviews. Contribute to achieving occupancy targets and maintaining an excellent reputation for quality childcare.

Requirements:

Minimum

Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education / Childcare

(or equivalent). With Experienced in a supervisory or senior practitioner role within a nursery or early years setting. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Sound knowledge of

EYFS framework

(or local equivalent) and childcare regulations. A caring, patient, and professional approach toward children, staff, and parents. Valid

First Aid

Child Protection

, and

Health & Safety

certifications (preferred).
