NGHC Project:
Air Products has entered into an agreement with ACWA Power and NEOM (all 3 have equal ownership) for the development of a $5bn green hydrogen-based ammonia production facility sited in NEOM. This is based on renewable energy principles and the project will integrate over four gigawatts of renewable solar, wind and storage power. It will produce green ammonia for export to global markets. The project is scheduled to be onstream in 2026.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for the development and management of a planning and progress control system to complete the project according to the execution strategy and in compliance with the contractual dates and requirements. The selected candidate will oversee the development and integration of the Contractor’s individual schedules into the total project plan, performing detailed schedule analysis to identify schedule risks and recommend mitigation and action plans to the project management team.

NATURE & SCOPE
The main functions of this position are to:
  • Ensure the implementation of the Planning and Progress Control System
  • Review and analyse the Contractor’s schedule basis and determine whether the schedules will adequately support the overall project schedule
  • Reviews project work activities to ensure support of project milestones
  • Create and maintain the weekly, monthly, and 90-day look-ahead schedule
  • Support the cost team in the verification of claimed progress against invoices.
  • Support the project team in the assessment of Variations and associated claims for Extension of Time.
  • Analyse the project status and raising awareness regarding issues and potential risks
  • Attend risk review meetings and participate in risk assessment exercise
  • Assess the recovery plans and forecasting the impact of changes
  • Prepare comprehensive Monthly Progress Report (MPR), showing the status and actual progress of all significant aspects of the work, highlighting progress percentage, milestone dates and areas of concern
  • Prepare a formal monthly presentation of project status
  • Perform periodic updates to identify deviations from the baseline and recommend corrective actions
  • Generate Cost Account Codes, prior to loading data in Primavera P6.
  • Provide the Project Team with routine and ad-hoc detailed reports /resource loading graphs /expenditure reports /sub-contract status information /Gantt charts /activity tables and progress reports.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES
  • Ensure that Contractor’s project schedules are prepared, analysed, monitored and controlled against Contract requirements and that final project turnover dates are within the approved Contract schedule
  • Utilizing Primavera P6, interface and coordinate with all Company resources to develop the FEED schedule, Level 2 Control Schedule, Manpower Deployment Schedule and Histograms, Procurement Schedule, Progress S-curves, and Level 3 Working Schedule
  • Utilize the project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks and targets to determine the staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources throughout the project lifecycle
  • Supports the development of scheduling standards and procedures. Compiles, summarizes, updates, and maintains historical schedule data. Monitors and reports the critical path and schedule performance of the total project.
  • Prepare all the reference baseline documents, and ensure that the Project’s planning and scheduling requirements are properly and clearly communicated to those functionally responsible for executing the work
  • Prepare the Planning & Scheduling Procedure, Progress Measurement Procedure and Risk Management Plan for the PCM verification
  • Ensure the effectiveness of the Planning and Progress Control System, monitoring the progress measurement system and ensuring the proper information flow, progress status and completion forecast are assessed and reported for Project phases
  • Update all Project Schedules, collecting actual data, evaluating forecast dates, and monitoring any progress and productivity deviation compared with the baseline schedule, including the corrective actions taken by the PM
  • Provide support to the Project Controls Manager by attending weekly/monthly project meetings to capture key metrics and develop project portfolio dashboard for monthly management.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION and/or QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years experience with Primavera P6 scheduling projects, programs, and portfolios.
DESIRED EDUCATION and/or QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • Experience within industrial gases, oil & gas or related industry will be a further benefit
  • PMP, PMI-SP or comparable certification will be an added benefit
MINIMUM YEARS EXPERIENCE IN SIMILAR JOB ROLE
Minimum 10 years’ experience in Project Controls with an emphasis on planning and scheduling.

SKILLS / TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS
  • Proficient in developing and analyzing schedules in Primavera P6
  • Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control, and variance analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, perform, review, and present schedule products independently with minimal supervision. This includes using a high level of professional judgment and knowledge related to technical planning and scheduling skills and engineering design, construction, and procurement practices.
  • Field experience required including working on large-scale engineering and construction contracts
  • Ability to work within multicultural project team to achieve targets and goals.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills which include technical writing used to manage contracts and change management.
  • Experience in KSA / GCC region (Highly recommended).
