Senior Network Engineer Job Objective
Support the implementation and development of the IT networks (LAN, WAN, wireless, etc..) and telecommunication services across the organization and ensure maintenance and upkeep of network communication links hardware and software . Key Accountabilities
General Responsibilities
\xef\x82\xa7 Assist in implementation of IT Infrastructure & Technical Support department policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of assigned department activity.
\xef\x82\xa7 Assist in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
\xef\x82\xa7 Ensure that all reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet requirements, policies, and quality standards.
Job Specific Responsibilities will include
\xef\x82\xa7 Collaborate with executive management and department leaders to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs.
\xef\x82\xa7 Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
\xef\x82\xa7 Manage and execute network & security projects from end-to-end which includes evaluating the technology, scoping, budgeting, raising purchase request, implementing & maintaining day-to-day operations.
\xef\x82\xa7 Manage, Maintain and Monitors Information Security technologies for company such as Web Proxy, Firewalls, Web Application firewall, Load balancers, Endpoint & Server security, Virtual private network(VPN), Email gateway, External DNS, Advance persistent threat(APT), Privilege access management(PAM), Secure file transfer(SFTP) etc and participate in planning and implementation of all infrastructure network & security projects(Upgrades, migrations & enhancements) to ensure compliance with Information security requirements.
\xef\x82\xa7 Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
\xef\x82\xa7 Design and deploy company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, switches, and other network hardware and Secure cloud infrastructure by following cloud adoption framework and which must include but not limited to implementing zero trust architecture and micro segmentation of all cloud services. Manage, Maintain and Monitors all cloud related Information Security technologies which are deployed under subscriptions.
\xef\x82\xa7 Manage azure services and maintain the Network components and systems of cloud service.
\xef\x82\xa7 Manage and maintain Broker connectivity toward through MPLS cloud along with Etisalat.
\xef\x82\xa7 Design, implement, and support firewalls, site-to-site VPNs, and remote-access VPNs Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
\xef\x82\xa7 Maintain the telecommunication services (IP voice systems, video, voice mail recording, billing ) systems.
\xef\x82\xa7 Undertake system checks on a periodic basis to ensure robustness and effectiveness of Secure Network Environment.
\xef\x82\xa7 Maintain Server RACKs arrangement and connectivity in the Data Center& IDFs on premise and branches.
\xef\x82\xa7 Oversee new and existing Network equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
\xef\x82\xa7 Interact and negotiate with vendors, Service providers, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.
\xef\x82\xa7 Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
\xef\x82\xa7 Conduct Proactive Preventive maintenance measures and address the findings.
\xef\x82\xa7 Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
\xef\x82\xa7 Provide 2nd level of support for Network related issues.
\xef\x82\xa7 Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user Network & telecommunication devices.
\xef\x82\xa7 Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances.
\xef\x82\xa7 Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
\xef\x82\xa7 Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
\xef\x82\xa7 Participate in managing all network security solutions.
\xef\x82\xa7 Ensure the high availability of Network & Telecommunication services and Support business Continuity Planning by participate in the regular failover and DR test.
\xef\x82\xa7 Perform Network and security audits, and Network systems backups and recovery.
\xef\x82\xa7 Evaluate and recommend new and emerging network & security products and technologies.
\xef\x82\xa7 Be available, on call, to rapidly troubleshoot any problems resulting from changes. Key Interfaces Internal External
Communicate daily with the Department Head and the managers to receive work direction, and to discuss and resolve issues Communicate frequently with IT system integrators and vendors to source, review and obtain clarification upon network and security related matters
Communicate daily with staff in Technical support function to ensure work co-ordination Communicate frequently with external IT auditors to coordinate actions related to Audit Findings
Communicate regularly with staff within Systems and Applications to resolve related issues Communicate frequently with brokers, investors, custodians, and Listed Companies, regulators, to provide network support services
Communicate regularly with all staff on providing support related to communication services Communicate frequently with the service provider (Etisalat, ADNET, ) to coordinate network communication services requirements
Communicate frequently with internal auditors to coordinate actions related to Audit Findings
Communicate regularly with IT Security staff for all IT security related matters Qualifications and Experience
\xef\x82\xa7 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent in one of the following majoring Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Network or Security Engineering
\xef\x82\xa7 Bonus Qualification/ Certification: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or Network + certification, CCNP (Cisco Certified Networking Professional Security) certification and CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) are a bonus.
\xef\x82\xa7 Minimum 7-9 years of technical hands-on experience managing and implementing complexed network security solutions and working in an complexed IT networks environment on premise/cloud with hands on experience in Network Engineering.
\xef\x82\xa7 Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, and WLAN design and implementation.
\xef\x82\xa7 Knowledge on WAF, Firewall, Vulnerability scanning, Baseline configuration, DLP knowledge, Email Security, Multifactor authentication, SOAP integration, SSL certificate installation, PAM solutions, SIEM implementation, Switching and routing.
\xef\x82\xa7 Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
\xef\x82\xa7 Expert knowledge of core routing and switching design principles, best practices, and related technologies.
\xef\x82\xa7 Experience in implementing and managing voice over IP (VoIP) systems desired.
\xef\x82\xa7 Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including routers, switches (layer 2/3), firewalls, remote access, DNS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLAN, QoS, DSL, Frame Relay, and Metro Ethernet.
\xef\x82\xa7 Five to Seven (5-7) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience designing, implementing, managing, and supporting enterprise level IP networks that include support of a heterogeneous distributed desktop computing environment required.
\xef\x82\xa7 Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.
\xef\x82\xa7 Extensive application support experience with network monitoring and analysis software.
\xef\x82\xa7 Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits. Personal Attributes.
