As a crucial member of the IT Support Team, the Network & Desktop Support Engineer will be responsible for the monitoring, and support of Lahore all network and desktop equipment. This role requires a proactive approach to support IT users, manage, and maintain wired and wireless network devices, firewalls, desktops, and laptops in accordance with the Entertainer\xe2\x80\x99s best practice guidelines.
Role and Responsibilities
Being a Key part of IT Support Team, Network & Desktop Support Engineer responsibility is to monitor, maintain, support of all Network & Desktop equipment. The selected candidate will be tasked to provide support to all IT users, manage, monitor, and maintain all the wired/wireless network devices, firewalls and desktop and laptop computers based on the Entertainer\xe2\x80\x99s best practice guideline.
Monitor, configure, and maintain Cisco switches for VLAN, routing, and switching.
Oversee Cisco Wireless Controllers and Access Points, ensuring optimal performance and security.
Manage Fortinet Firewalls, including configuration and maintenance of IPSec Client VPNs and Site to Site VPNs.
Maintain endpoint security systems, including EDR antivirus and monitoring agents.
Handle Avaya IP Office 500 for VoIP Trunks using SIP and client management.
Administer Windows Active Directory Forest, ensuring system integrity and security.
Provide comprehensive hardware and software support for all desktop and laptop users.
Enhance and monitor network security, conducting regular security reviews.
Troubleshoot complex network system issues, identifying and resolving root causes.
Support various operating systems including Windows, Linux, and Mac.
Implement preventive measures to ensure network reliability, scalability, availability, and security.
Conduct security assessments for all software deployments.
Manage and maintain Office365, Windows Active Directory.
Provide Support for mobile and tablet devices to end users.
Investigate, recommend, and implement new technological enhancements to improve network functionality.
Implement data and network security protocols using firewalls, UTM, IPS/IDS, ACS, and VPN technologies.
Diagnose and repair hardware including laptops, desktop computers, printers, tablets, and mobile devices.
Efficiently utilize a Support Ticketing System to manage and resolve issues.
Set up, maintain, and monitor automated alerts.
Maintain thorough documentation, including network diagrams and configuration records.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Comprehensive understanding of operating systems including Linux, Windows, and Mac OS.
Proven experience in network and desktop support, preferably in a similar role.
Strong understanding of network infrastructure and hardware.
Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
Knowledge of various operating systems and platforms.
Resourcefulness and quick-thinking nature to troubleshoot new and critical technical issues as they arise.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Certifications in relevant fields (Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA, etc.) are a plus.
Desired Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
Proficiency in network administration and security, evidenced by certifications such as CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), and Microsoft Certifications for Windows Servers.
Skilled in network routing, Access Control Lists (ACLs), and firewall security management.
Basic familiarity with Cloud Security principles and practices
Understanding of Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems and their integration into network environments.
Additional Qualifications:
Possession of a Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) certification.
Certifications in Cisco networking such as CCNA and CCNP are highly valued.
