As a Nature Based Solutions Engineer, you will be working under the direction and technical tutelage of our Senior Wetland Technology Specialists in BAUER\xe2\x80\x99s Wetland Competence Centre, and alongside BAUER\xe2\x80\x99s Business Development Team in the UAE and the GCC region.
The main tasks of your job will include, but are not limited to:
- Participate in the development of wastewater management and treatment strategies using a wide range of tools and techniques.
- Support in developing new Nature-Based wastewater treatment projects, with a focus in the UAE, including representing BAUER in meetings, presenting our wetland technology offerings to potential customers, understanding client\xe2\x80\x99s needs, and conceiving potential solutions.
- Develop proposals, work plans and respond to Request For Proposals and Tenders.
- Consult on wastewater treatment projects from initial conception and conceptual design to site assessments, data gathering, proposal development, through to implementation.\xe2\x80\xaf
- Assist with the design and optimization of semi-passive wastewater treatment systems such as treatment wetlands, bioreactors, in situ treatment, etc. using internally developed tools and\xe2\x80\xaftechnologies.\xe2\x80\xaf
- Provide technical support during construction/implementation and operational stages of our Nature-Based wastewater treatment systems, including Quality Control of internal procedures and supervision of external sub-contractors to ensure our projects are delivered to a high standard.
- Develop\xe2\x80\xafcalculations\xe2\x80\xafand\xe2\x80\xafalgorithms\xe2\x80\xaffor design or sizing biological and semi-passive wastewater treatment\xe2\x80\xafsystems.\xe2\x80\xaf
- Write technical descriptions of scientific and engineering processes geared for all types of\xe2\x80\xafreaders.\xe2\x80\xaf
- Bachelor\'s Degree in a relevant scientific or engineering field is required.
- Master of Science or Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g. constructed wetlands or decentralized wastewater management) is strongly preferred.
- Depending on the degree, 2 to 7+ years of private sector or NGO work experience in the development and/or implementation of Nature-Based Solutions, decentralized wastewater management systems, sewage treatment projects, or industrial wastewater treatment.
- Experience working in the United Arab Emirates is preferable.
- Must be proficient in the English language (spoken and written). Fluency in Arabic is desirable.
- Strong technical writer and communicator, including reporting, proposal preparation, and presentations.
