Job Description

Job Summary:

The Multi-Boring Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the multi-boring (multi-spindle drilling) machine used for drilling holes in MDF and chipboard panels according to technical drawings and production requirements. The operator ensures accuracy, consistency, and quality in all drilling operations while maintaining safety and efficiency in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Machine Setup and Operation:

Prepare and set up the multi-boring machine based on job specifications and drilling patterns. Adjust drilling heads, speeds, and feed rates for optimal performance. Load and position MDF or chipboard panels correctly on the machine table. Monitor the drilling process to ensure holes are clean, accurate, and correctly aligned.
2. Quality Control:

Check drilled panels against production drawings or templates for accuracy and finish. Identify and correct any errors or misalignments in drilling. Record production data, including quantities, material use, and quality notes.
3. Maintenance and Safety:

Perform daily cleaning and preventive maintenance of the machine. Replace worn or damaged drill bits and ensure proper lubrication of moving parts. Follow all factory safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Report any mechanical or safety issues immediately to the supervisor.
4. Production Efficiency:

Coordinate with production planners and other operators to maintain workflow and minimize downtime. Optimize drilling sequences to reduce material waste and improve productivity. Assist in handling and organizing finished components for further processing or assembly.

Qualifications and Skills:

High school diploma or technical training in woodworking, machinery operation, or a related field. Minimum 2 years of experience operating multi-boring or similar woodworking drilling machines. Good understanding of MDF, chipboard, and panel material properties. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and hole diagrams. Strong attention to detail and precision in measurement. Basic mechanical knowledge for machine adjustments and minor repairs. Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and operate machinery for extended periods. Capable of lifting and handling panels up to 25-30 kg with assistance. Good manual dexterity and coordination.
