Greet customers as they approach the checkout counter and inquire about their shopping experience.
Scan and bag items, process payments, and issue receipts using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
Ensure accurate pricing and proper handling of coupons, discounts, and loyalty cards.
Assist customers with locating items and answering questions about products and services.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, including the conveyor belt, scanner, and bagging area.
Handle cash and credit/debit card transactions, and precisely operate the cash register.
Balance cash drawer at the end of each shift and reconcile any discrepancies.
Follow company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, refunds, and exchanges.
Collaborate with other supermarket staff to ensure a smooth and efficient checkout process.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer concerns and resolving issues promptly.
