Key Responsibilities:

Supervision of MEP Installation:

Supervise the installation of MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and other building systems) according to project specifications and drawings. Ensure all work is completed on time and in compliance with health, safety, and building codes. Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other construction personnel for smooth operations.

Quality Control:

Conduct regular inspections of MEP systems during installation and throughout the project to ensure compliance with quality standards. Perform testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of MEP systems.

Team Management:

Manage a team of technicians and tradespeople, assigning tasks and ensuring that the work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. Train and develop staff on MEP system installation, operation, and safety practices.

Coordination and Communication:

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other departments to ensure the MEP systems integrate seamlessly with the building design. Maintain communication with project managers regarding progress and potential issues that may affect the timeline or cost.

Project Scheduling:

Develop and maintain a schedule for MEP installation and work closely with the project manager to ensure deadlines are met. Ensure that all materials and equipment are available on time for efficient installation.

Health and Safety:

Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations and standards for all MEP installations. Conduct safety audits and risk assessments and ensure that proper safety protocols are followed.

Problem Solving and Troubleshooting:

Address any technical issues or malfunctions related to MEP systems and coordinate repairs or adjustments as needed. Investigate and resolve complaints or issues related to system performance.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspections, tests, and any issues encountered during the installation of MEP systems. Provide regular reports to the project manager and client on the progress of MEP installations.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in MEP systems installation, maintenance, and supervision. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and their installation processes. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Experience with project management and working with contractors, subcontractors, and engineers. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills. Familiarity with relevant building codes and safety standards. Good communication and team coordination abilities.

Education and Experience:

A diploma or degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field is often required. 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in MEP installations, preferably in a supervisory role.

Skills:

Technical proficiency in MEP systems. Strong leadership and team management. Good understanding of construction schedules and processes. Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes.
