Job Description

The Revit MEP Electrical Designer is responsible for the development and management of electrical design plans, models, and documentation using Autodesk Revit MEP software. This role plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and accurate design and coordination of electrical systems within the BIM framework.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical System Design:

Create, modify, and manage Revit models for electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems.

Circuit Design:

Design and manage electrical circuits, specifying panel schedules, circuit loads, and wiring details, ensuring proper power distribution throughout the building.

Lighting Design:

Develop lighting layouts, calculate illuminance levels, and specify lighting fixtures and control systems.

Electrical Families:

Use Revit's library of electrical families for components such as receptacles, switches, panels, and conduit runs. Create custom families when required.

Load Analysis:

Perform electrical load calculations to ensure the electrical system can accommodate connected loads. Generate and maintain load schedules and reports.

Electrical Panels:

Design electrical panels, specifying circuit breakers, transformers, and wiring between panels and distribution boards.

Wiring and Conduit:

Create wiring and conduit systems for routing electrical cables and conduits throughout the building. Use Revit's routing tools to ensure efficient and code-compliant designs.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate electrical systems with the overall building design and ensure clash-free designs.

Code Compliance:

Ensure that electrical designs adhere to local building codes, electrical codes, and standards.

Documentation:

Generate construction documents, including plans, schedules, and diagrams, and keep them up to date with the latest design changes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, or a related field (preferred). Proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP with a strong track record of successfully using the software for electrical system design. Knowledge of electrical design principles, electrical codes, and standards. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality design documentation.

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
