Perform detailed quantity take-offs from drawings (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC).
Ensure accuracy in the calculation of materials, labor, and equipment.
Cost Estimation:
Prepare cost estimates for MEP works based on the scope of work, specifications, and market prices.
Develop estimates for various stages (conceptual, schematic, detailed design, and tender).
Tendering and Bidding:
Analyze tender documents, specifications, and drawings to prepare competitive bids.
Request and review quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
Coordinate with procurement for updated pricing.
Technical Evaluation:
Evaluate technical aspects of MEP components and suggest cost-effective alternatives.
Ensure compliance with codes and client specifications.
Coordination and Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, design engineers, and architects.
Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to gather pricing and scope inputs.
Risk Analysis:
Identify potential risks and uncertainties in MEP works.
Provide contingency allowances in estimates accordingly.
Reporting:
Prepare detailed BOQs, cost summaries, and bid comparisons.
Present and justify cost estimates to management or clients.
Updating Cost Databases:
Maintain and update unit cost databases for MEP materials and labor.
Stay current with market trends and pricing fluctuations.
Value Engineering:
Participate in value engineering processes to optimize cost without compromising quality or performance.
Minimum 4-5 years of local experience in MEP estimation is required.
Candidates without relevant experience will not be considered.
