Job Description

The MEP Coordinator will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and overseeing all mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and fire fighting (FF) systems for a high-rise G+40 tower construction project. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in MEP coordination for high-rise buildings and possess in-depth knowledge of DEWA, Dubai Civil Defense (DCD) regulations, and extensive experience working with authorities.

Key Responsibilities

:

Project Planning and Management: Develop and maintain project schedules for all MEP and FF installations. Ensure that all MEP work is completed in alignment with the project timeline, budget, and applicable building codes and standards.

Subcontractor Coordination: Oversee all MEP and FF subcontractors, ensuring that they meet project specifications and schedules. Act as the central point of contact between the subcontractors and the project team.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all MEP installations comply with DEWA, DCD regulations, and other local building codes. Coordinate with authorities to secure all necessary permits and approvals.

Consultant and Stakeholder Interaction: Manage all consultant requirements, attend meetings, and address queries related to MEP and FF systems. Ensure smooth communication between consultants, subcontractors, and project teams.

Progress Reporting: Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports for the MEP Manager and Project Manager, detailing the status of MEP works, including any issues or delays.

Technical Review: Review design drawings and specifications to ensure MEP systems are integrated seamlessly into the project. Coordinate with other departments to resolve any design clashes or technical issues.

Commissioning and Testing: Supervise the testing and commissioning of all MEP and FF systems, ensuring that the installations function correctly and efficiently. Provide support in troubleshooting any system failures or defects.

Documentation and Logs: Ensure all MEP-related documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and as-built drawings, are maintained and up-to-date.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in MEP coordination for G+40 high-rise towers, specifically in Dubai. Familiarity with Dubai's regulations, including DEWA and DCD, is required

Skills:

Strong knowledge of MEP and FF systems in high-rise construction.

Proficiency in MEP-related software (AutoCAD, Revit).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate with consultants.

Strong project management and multitasking skills.

Certifications:

Relevant professional certifications related to MEP coordination and project management are preferred. DM Certification is a must

Ability to handle high-pressure situations and tight deadlines.

Strong problem-solving skills and technical knowledge to resolve on-site issues.
