The MEP Coordination Draughtsman is responsible for preparing, updating, and coordinating detailed shop drawings for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing services. The role ensures clash-free, coordinated layouts in line with project specifications, authority requirements, and site conditions.
Key ResponsibilitiesDrawing & Coordination
Prepare
coordinated MEP shop drawings
(HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Electrical, ELV).
Develop
combined services drawings
showing clear routing, levels, and supports.
Participate in
clash detection and resolution
using Navisworks / BIM models.
Update drawings based on:
Consultant comments
Site conditions
Design changes
Technical Support
Interpret
IFC drawings, specifications, and BOQs
accurately.
Assist engineers in:
Builder's work drawings
Sleeve and opening layouts
Hanger and support drawings
BIM / Digital Coordination
Work closely with BIM coordinators to maintain:
Model accuracy
Layer discipline
Drawing standards
Extract coordinated shop drawings from BIM models when required.
Site Coordination
Attend
coordination meetings
with engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
Support site teams with:
Revised drawings
As-built documentation
Ensure drawings reflect
actual site installation

Qualifications
Diploma / ITI in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Drafting
5-8 years experience in
MEP coordination
for building projects
Experience in:
High-rise buildings
Commercial / Residential towers
Hotels, malls, hospitals (preferred)
Required Competencies
Strong understanding of:
HVAC ducting systems
Plumbing & drainage layouts
Fire fighting networks
Cable trays, trunking & containment
Excellent
spatial coordination skills
Ability to work under
tight deadlines
Strong communication with engineers & site teams
Detail-oriented with high drawing accuracy
