Overview

Reporting to the Director, Clinical Operations, the Medical Translator role is responsible for assisting medical caregivers in providing accurate interpretation and translation of medical information to patients, guests and their family members from Arabic to English or vice versa using appropriate medical terminologies and comprehensible language. The incumbent is also responsible for translating information including but not limited to purpose of medical visits, explanation of surgical and medical procedures, drug information and patient medical history.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to the function\'s policies, procedures and standards while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory bodies.
• Acts as a medium of communication between the asset\xe2\x80\x99s medical professionals and patients by translating and interpreting a wide range of information including but not limited to medical conditions, treatment options, follow-up appointment details, billing and insurance as well as patients\xe2\x80\x99 responses back to caregivers in an accurate and comprehensible manner using the right terminologies and language.
• Interprets critical medical advice and information given by the relevant medical caregiver in an accurate manner and translates into equivalent terminology and language comprehensible by the patient.
• Conducts general and medical interpretation activities to caregivers, patients and/or their families in line with the asset rules and regulations.
• Takes responsibility to ensure complaints, concerns, and recommendations are escalated appropriately and documented.
• Adheres to and promotes recommended practice in relation to controlling and preventing infection, by taking all reasonable personal precautions necessary to avoid any potential health risks to colleagues, residents, families and visitors.

Qualifications

Education

• Vocational / Technical Education.

Experience

• Experience in medical field

Job Specific Skills and Abilities

• Strong understanding of medical terminologies
• Knowledge of healthcare policies and regulations
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic
