About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Medical Coder and Insurance Coordinator to join our dynamic healthcare team in Bur Dubai. This critical role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong medical background and expertise in medical coding systems. The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy of coding for procedures and diagnoses and will efficiently coordinate insurance claims to support our revenue cycle management.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Coding:

  • Review and analyze patient medical records to abstract data and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services.
  • Ensure all coding complies with federal regulations, payer policies, and internal guidelines.
  • Assign appropriate modifiers to codes based on operative reports and documentation.
  • Resolve coding discrepancies and clarify information with physicians and clinicians when necessary.
  • Stay updated on current coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements.
Insurance Coordination:
  • Process and submit clean insurance claims electronically and by paper to various payers.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to services being rendered.
  • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims within standard billing cycle timeframe.
  • Investigate and resolve claim rejections, denials, and appeals in a timely manner.
  • Post insurance payments and adjustments accurately into the practice management system.
  • Communicate effectively with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers regarding billing and coding issues.
Data Management & Reporting:
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel proficiently to create, manage, and analyze spreadsheets for tracking claims, denials, payments, and other key performance indicators.
  • Generate reports to identify trends and support operational and financial decisions.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and secure the integrity of all health information.
Mandatory Criteria & Qualifications
  • Certification: Must be a CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) from AHIMA or a CPC (Certified Professional Coder) from AAPC. Certification must be current and in good standing.
  • Education: A medical background is essential (e.g., Diploma/Degree in Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Technology, or a related health science field).
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Medical Coder and Insurance Coordinator in a clinical setting.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Expert knowledge of coding principles, guidelines, and regulations for ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Formulas).
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management (PM) software.
  • Availability: Must be available to join immediately.
  • Location: Must be located in or willing to commute to Bur Dubai.
