We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented

Mechanical Piping & AutoCAD Draftsman

to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise 2D and 3D technical drawings and schematics for mechanical piping systems using AutoCAD software. This role plays a critical part in translating engineering concepts into accurate documents for manufacturing, procurement, and installation in industrial projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:1. Drafting and Design:

Develop detailed mechanical and piping drawings based on engineering specifications. Prepare 2D and 3D CAD models including plans, sections, and isometric views. Ensure all designs meet industry standards, client specifications, and internal guidelines.

2. Stress Analysis:

Review technical documentation and client requirements. Perform CAESAR II modeling for piping systems. Issue piping stress specifications and critical line lists. Evaluate pipe flexibility and conduct stress analysis.

3. Piping Layouts:

Design and route piping systems, including equipment connections and pipe supports. Generate and maintain Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Collaborate with engineers to optimize designs for safety, efficiency, and cost.

4. Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of all design revisions and as-built drawings. Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) and related project documentation. Ensure proper archiving and accessibility of all project documents.

5. Collaboration:

Coordinate with mechanical engineers, project managers, and design teams. Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback to improve deliverables. Communicate effectively to resolve technical issues.

6. Quality Control:

Conduct thorough quality checks on all drawings and models. Identify and correct discrepancies or design errors. Ensure all deliverables are completed on time and in compliance with project requirements.

7. Software Proficiency:

Expert-level use of AutoCAD for mechanical and piping drafting. Stay current with industry drafting tools and techniques.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years in mechanical piping drafting using AutoCAD.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D) Knowledge of P&ID, isometric drawings, and mechanical design standards Familiarity with piping codes (e.g., ASME, ANSI)

Preferred Software Experience:

Ansys, CATIA, STAAD Pro, Plant 3D (a plus)

Industry Background:

Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or construction sectors is highly desirable.

Languages:

English (required), Arabic (advantage)
