Mechanical Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Proficient experience in mechanical engineering in Infrastructure, Utilities and Landscape projects involving design and construction of mechanical systems (Water / Waste water Pump station, Wastewater Treatment Plants, Piping systems for water distribution, Wastewater Collection, Drainage, Gas, District Cooling, Pneumatic Waste etc.) with knowledge of codes, design manuals and construction practices.
• Demonstrated previous PMCM experience.
• 5 years of experience in Qatar / GCC region.
• Good written and oral communication.
• Proven ability to perform key technical role.
• Experience in testing and commissioning of these systems.
• Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
• Knowledge of current technology and its effective use on the project.
• Performs complex engineering tasks and important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
• Oversees the preparation of contract drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Regularly interfaces with other engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
• Reviews contract drawings, specifications and other procurement materials that have been prepared by designers and contractors and provides comments.
• Reviews specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents and provides comments.
• Provides technical guidance to CAD drafters and Engineers.
• Serves as primary interface with the design consultants and construction contractor in performing design reviews or addressing construction-related issues related to the mechanical systems.
• Understands all related codes and their application to the project; and overseas/manages the interface with local agencies to coordinate design standards usage and monthly approvals’ process.
• Act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
• Maintains awareness of the project mechanical specifications, drawings and design criteria.
  

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering (four-year degree) required
• 15+ years experience (5 years in Qatar/GCC region) in heavy industrial systems mechanical design (Experience may include HVAC, Piping, Plumbing, ventilation systems)
• Potential to preform in a lead capacity
• Prefer candidates with experience in mechanical design/engineering of facilities and related mechanical systems
• Candidate must be proficient with AutoCAD
