Job Description

We are seeking a

Mechanical Engineer

with a strong background in

steel fabrication, piping, and sheet metal

to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating fabrication drawings, planning projects, preparing quotations, managing material orders, and conducting site visits for measurements. We're looking for someone with a

mechanical mindset and innovative spirit

who can bring fresh, out-of-the-box ideas to improve our processes and products.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop accurate

technical drawings

and

fabrication plans

for steel structures, piping systems, and sheet metal components. Prepare

project quotations

including material take-offs and cost estimations. Plan and coordinate the

fabrication workflow

, ensuring efficient use of materials and resources.

Order materials

in line with project requirements and lead times. Conduct

site visits

to take measurements and assess fabrication feasibility. Liaise with shop floor supervisors and ensure the correct interpretation of drawings.

Monitor and maintain quality standards

during fabrication to ensure finished products meet project and industry specifications. Propose

innovative design or process improvements

to enhance productivity, quality, or cost-efficiency. Stay up to date with

industry standards

, materials, and technologies.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

or related field. Minimum

3-5 years of experience

in a mechanical or fabrication engineering role, preferably in the oil & gas or steel fabrication industry. Strong understanding of

steel structures, pipe sizing, sheet metal dimensions

, and material behavior. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar). Knowledge of fabrication processes such as cutting, welding, forming, and assembly. Ability to work independently and perform accurate site measurements. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a

mechanical mindset

. Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualities:

Creative thinker with a

passion for innovation

and process improvement. Familiarity with industry codes and standards (ASME, API, etc.) is a plus. Experience working with procurement and vendor coordination.
