Job Overview:

PTI FABRICATION

is looking for a qualified Design Engineer with strong technical knowledge in steel structures, sheet metal fabrication, conveyor systems, and custom mechanical equipment. The candidate must be capable of preparing detailed fabrication drawings, 3D models, BOMs, and layout plans using design software. He will work closely with the production, sales, and project teams to deliver accurate and practical design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

The Design Engineer will be responsible for developing 2D fabrication drawings and 3D models based on client specifications, sketches, or project requirements. He will handle material selection, design calculations, assembly detailing, and prepare shop-ready drawings. The candidate should also support cost estimation by generating BOQs/BOMs and must coordinate with the workshop during fabrication and assembly stages to ensure design accuracy. Understanding of standards related to welding, steel structures, and sheet metal is essential.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role within the steel fabrication or material handling industry. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Autodesk Inventor is a must. Knowledge of steel material grades, welding symbols, GD&T, and fabrication processes is essential. Candidates with experience in conveyors, platforms, skids, ducting, and steel structures will be preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment are required.
