Job Summary

The Fire Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of fire protection systems in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and authority requirements. The role ensures that all fire-fighting and fire alarm mechanical systems are safe, compliant, and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities

Design, review, and implement fire protection systems, including

firefighting (sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, FM200, clean agent systems)

and related mechanical components. Review project drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure compliance with

NFPA, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, Civil Defense, and international standards

. Coordinate with consultants, contractors, architects, and other engineering disciplines (MEP). Supervise installation works on-site and ensure quality, safety, and adherence to approved drawings and methods. Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of fire protection systems and prepare reports. Liaise with

Civil Defense and other authorities

for approvals, inspections, and final certification. Prepare material submittals, method statements, shop drawings, and technical documents. Monitor project progress, resolve technical issues, and provide engineering solutions. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on site. Support maintenance teams in troubleshooting and rectifying system faults when required.
Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in

Mechanical Engineering

or related field. Minimum

3-7 years of experience

in fire protection systems (construction or facilities management). Strong knowledge of

NFPA standards, UAE Fire Code, and Civil Defense regulations

. Experience with fire fighting systems design, installation, and commissioning. Proficiency in

AutoCAD

and basic engineering software. Good communication and coordination skills. Civil Defense approval/certification (preferred).
