Mechanical Engineer (Design - Buildings & Infrastructure)

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare mechanical design calculations, drawings, and specifications for building and infrastructure projects. Design HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and other mechanical systems in compliance with local and international codes (ADDM, ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, BS, etc.). Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and other disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions. Review and approve mechanical shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements. Conduct technical design reviews and value engineering to optimize cost and performance. Liaise with clients, authorities, and contractors during design and construction stages. Support authority submissions and obtain necessary approvals from Abu Dhabi local authorities. Attend design coordination meetings and provide technical support during construction. Ensure designs comply with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. Assist in mentoring junior engineers and reviewing their work.
Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. 5-7 years of relevant experience in mechanical design for buildings and infrastructure projects. Strong consultancy background with experience in the UAE or GCC preferred. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and HVAC load calculation software. Good knowledge of Abu Dhabi authority requirements and international standards. Strong communication, coordination, and report-writing skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working on large-scale residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects. Familiarity with sustainable design practices and energy-efficient systems. Professional certification (e.g., CEng, PE) is an advantage.
