Job Description
We are currently looking for a
Mechanical Design Engineer
with a strong background in HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing systems, who can support the design and coordination efforts across technically complex projects.Key Responsibilities:
Design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in line with project requirements and local authority regulations Prepare and review mechanical system layouts, schematics, and detailed drawings using AutoCAD and related tools Conduct heat load calculations, pump and duct sizing, and equipment selection Coordinate designs with other disciplines (electrical, structural, and architectural) Support site teams during installation, testing, and commissioning phases Ensure all designs meet applicable codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.) and client specifications Prepare and submit design documentation for authority approvals (DCD, DEWA, DM, etc.) Participate in value engineering exercises and propose cost-effective design alternatives
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering 5-8 years of UAE experience in mechanical design within MEP contracting Strong understanding of HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing systems Proficient in AutoCAD, HAP, and other mechanical design tools Familiar with UAE building codes and authority approval processes Excellent coordination and communication skills Experience working on industrial or large-scale commercial projects is an advantage
