Mechanical Design Engineer – Composites

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop composite structures, components, and assemblies using advanced CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, etc.). Apply in-depth knowledge of composite materials (e.g., carbon fiber, fiberglass) to optimize strength-to-weight ratio, manufacturability, and cost. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, process engineering, and testing to ensure composite designs meet performance, durability, and production requirements. Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, ply schedules, lay-up instructions, BOMs, and documentation in line with aerospace/automotive/marine industry standards. Perform structural and thermal analyses (FEA, laminate theory, etc.) to validate composite designs under real-world loading conditions.
