Job Summary:

The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and coordination of mechanical systems for building and infrastructure projects. This role includes preparing design calculations, reviewing technical submissions, and ensuring that all mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting) comply with project requirements, authority regulations, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Design HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting systems based on project scope, codes, and standards. Prepare detailed mechanical design calculations, equipment sizing, and load assessments. Develop mechanical system layouts and coordinate with architectural and other engineering disciplines. Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation. Ensure compliance with local authority regulations (e.g., DCD, DM, ADM) and international codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.). Participate in value engineering, feasibility analysis, and design optimization. Provide technical support to site teams, procurement, and commissioning engineers. Attend project meetings and liaise with consultants, clients, and other stakeholders. Prepare technical reports, BOQs, and design narratives.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design within construction or MEP projects. Proficient in AutoCAD, HAP, Revit (MEP), and other design software. Strong knowledge of HVAC, firefighting, and plumbing system design. Familiarity with authority requirements and permit processes in [Insert Location/UAE].
