Job Overview

• Serve as a technical link between design, procurement, and quantity surveying teams
• Validate and review material specifications for design compliance and constructability
• Analyze material take-offs and support estimation with accurate quantity and cost insights
• Propose alternative materials to improve cost-efficiency and delivery schedules
• Coordinate with vendors and procurement to confirm availability, pricing, and lead times
• Maintain an up-to-date materials database including benchmarks and supplier references
• Support vendor evaluations during tendering and prequalification processes
• Document and report material risks, assumptions, and cost-saving options

Job Requirements
Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management
• 6-7 years of experience in a construction, consultancy, or design-build environment

Skills

• Strong understanding of construction materials, standards, and sourcing protocols
• Familiarity with estimation tools (e.g., Candy, CostX)
• Knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit and BIM tools is advantageous
• Effective communication and coordination skills across cross-functional teams
• Ability to contribute to cost planning, procurement strategy, and value engineering
