Job Description

Degree: bachelor of civil engineering

Responsibilities:

1. Cost Estimation & Tendering

Analyzing project specifications, drawings, and contract documents. Preparing detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors. Conducting quantity take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings. Preparing and submitting tender documents, including BOQs (Bill of Quantities), technical proposals, and pricing. Coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and negotiate competitive pricing.
2. Budgeting & Cost Control

Developing project budgets and monitoring costs to ensure profitability. Identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality. Assisting in the preparation of cost breakdown structures and cash flow forecasts.
3. Market Research & Supplier Coordination

Researching and analyzing current market rates for materials and labor. Building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers. Evaluating supplier quotations to ensure compliance with project specifications.
4. Risk Assessment & Value Engineering

Identifying potential risks and providing cost-effective solutions. Implementing value engineering techniques to optimize project costs.
5. Coordination with Other Departments

Collaborating with project managers, site engineers, and procurement teams to align project costs with execution plans. Assisting in post-tender clarifications and negotiations with clients and consultants.
6. Compliance & Documentation

Ensuring that estimates comply with local regulations, codes, and client requirements. Maintaining proper documentation for all estimations and tenders.
7. Post-Contract Support

Assisting in contract negotiations and variations. Analyzing cost overruns and providing recommendations for cost control.
Key Skills Required:

Proficiency in estimation software like planswift, Primavera, or AutoCAD. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and Dubai's market rates. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and Dubai Municipality regulations.
