Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented

Material Engineer

with extensive experience in

Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E)

and

material selection

for

interior fit-out projects

. The ideal candidate must have proven experience working in the

UAE

, with in-depth knowledge of local and international

material suppliers and vendors

, particularly within the commercial, hospitality, and high-end residential sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead material selection processes for FF&E and fit-out projects, ensuring alignment with design intent, functional requirements, and project budgets. Source and evaluate furniture, finishes, fixtures, and equipment from reputable local and international vendors. Liaise with interior designers, architects, procurement teams, and project managers to ensure timely material approvals and deliveries. Prepare and maintain detailed material submittals, technical datasheets, compliance certificates, and sample boards. Ensure all materials meet UAE building codes, sustainability standards, and client expectations. Conduct site visits and inspections to verify material installation quality and adherence to specifications. Stay up to date with emerging trends, innovative materials, and sustainability practices in the FF&E and fit-out industry. Develop and maintain strong relationships with material suppliers, manufacturers, and industry professionals.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in

Materials Engineering

,

Interior Design

,

Architecture

, or a related discipline.

Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience

, with at least

2 years in the UAE

working on

fit-out and FF&E projects

. Deep understanding of

FF&E specifications

, finishes, joinery, and bespoke furniture materials. Strong vendor network and knowledge of

UAE-based

material suppliers and sourcing channels. Ability to interpret design drawings and translate them into practical material solutions. Excellent documentation, communication, and coordination skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects. Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and relevant material submittal platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working on

commercial or residential projects

. Familiarity with

LEED

, or other green building certifications. Knowledge of procurement processes and logistics related to FF&E.
