Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
Assist in selecting materials based on project specifications and industry standards
Review and approve material submittals from suppliers
Ensure sourced materials comply with regulatory and environmental requirements
Conduct and supervise laboratory and field tests on aggregates, concrete, asphalt, metals and related materials
Monitor the quality and storage conditions of materials to prevent degradation
Track performance of materials throughout construction and recommend alternatives when required
Investigate material failures and recommend corrective actions
Maintain complete records of testing, inspections, certificates and approvals
Prepare and submit detailed material testing and compliance reports
Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and QC teams to ensure timely and compliant material usage
Support procurement teams by clarifying specifications and ensuring approved materials only
Evaluate material costs and recommend cost-effective options without compromising standards
Conduct site inspections to ensure proper handling, installation and storage
Monitor material consumption and prevent wastage
Identify and mitigate risks related to supply delays, shortages or non-conforming materials
Ensure compliance with sustainability and environmental regulations
Provide training and guidance on material handling, testing and QA procedures
Support handover documentation including warranties, certificates and final quality reports
Ideal Profile
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering or related discipline
Strong understanding of material testing, specifications and QA/QC procedures
Experience in infrastructure, water, roads or utilities projects
Knowledge of UAE and international standards for construction materials
Strong analytical and reporting skills
Ability to resolve material-related issues quickly and effectively
Excellent communication and coordination abilities
Proficiency in MS Office and material testing documentation tools
Organized, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities
