Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Surface Preparation: Sanding, cleaning, filling gaps, and priming wooden surfaces to ensure a smooth and durable finish. Painting and Finishing: Applying paints, stains, varnishes, and protective coatings with precision, using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment. Decorative Techniques: Executing special finishes such as antiquing, glazing, distressing, or faux finishes to achieve desired artistic effects. Color Matching: Selecting and mixing paints to achieve the specified color and finish as per project requirements. Quality Assurance: Inspecting work regularly to ensure high-quality standards, durability, and an even coat. Material Handling: Mixing, tinting, and preparing paints and finishes, and properly maintaining tools and equipment. Job Site Coordination: Collaborating with clients, interior designers, contractors, and other trades to meet project specifications and deadlines. Safety Compliance: Following all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe work environment. Maintenance: Providing advice on the upkeep of painted surfaces and performing touchups as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Proven experience as a wood painter or similar role, with a strong portfolio of completed work. Expert knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and materials relevant to wood finishing. Excellent attention to detail and artistic visualization skills. Ability to identify different types of wood and understand suitable finishes. Good physical stamina and manual dexterity. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Knowledge of safety standards related to painting and handling chemicals.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification or training in advanced painting or decorative finishing techniques. Experience working on furniture, cabinetry, or decorative woodwork.
