Job Description
A Marine Mechanic inspects, diagnoses, maintains, and repairs boats and watercraft, focusing on engines (gas/diesel, inboard/outboard), drive trains, electrical systems, hydraulics, plumbing, and steering, ensuring vessels operate safely and efficiently, involving fieldwork at marinas, documentation, and sometimes working on larger commercial vessels or yachts
Key Responsibilities
Diagnostics & Repair:
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in various systems.Maintenance:
Perform routine tasks like oil changes, fluid checks, tune-ups, and preventative servicing.Component Work:
Repair or replace engines, propellers, rigging, controls, and fuel/cooling systems.System Servicing:
Maintain electrical AC systems, plumbing, and steering/hydraulic components.Documentation:
Keep detailed records of work, parts used, and time spent.Client Interaction:
Provide cost estimates, explain repairs, and communicate with owners/captains.Job Type: Full-time
