JOB PURPOSE: To provide appropriate and timely financial information, evaluating, reviewing and identifying information gaps related to financial reporting in compliance with reporting standards and regulatory requirements to ensure new treasury products are in line with industry standards and best practice.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. General Ledger (GL) Reporting: Monitor GL balances, identifying incorrect balance, abnormal movement and incorrect behaviour in order to maintain a strict control environment Review controls on complex derivatives, options, swaps, hedge accounting, interest, non-interest income/expense related balances in order to identify areas of improvement that need to be implemented.
2. Reporting and Accounting: Prepare all financial statements in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to ensure compliance Evaluate IFRS disclosure requirements, identifying and recommending improvement areas to ensure compliance to changing regulations Design process and controls in order to prepare and submit quarterly reporting requirements to the Holding Company.
3. Technical Accounting Support: Support on technical accounting treatments and financial impact assessments, reporting on aspects in order to provide inputs and independent understanding on the subject.
4. New and revised International accounting standards: Support and assist in preparing and finalising new disclosure notes and working papers to ensure compliance with the IFRS requirement.
5. Business and Analytical:
Prepare workings for budget and forecast exercise including providing support in order to assist on the budget discussion / assessment / data requirement Support on periodic and ad-hoc data requirements, conducting assessment through deep dive and evaluation of key parameters/cross validating based on information from different and independent sources in order to enhance controls on quality and quantity of information.
6. People Management:
Manage self and team in line with ADCB\xe2\x80\x99s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximise own and employee contribution to business performance Organise and supervise the activities and work of the team to ensure that targets and objectives are achieved and the business plan is delivered in line with the required policies, processes, procedures and systems.
7. Policies, Processes, Systems and Procedures: Implement approved departmental policies, processes and procedures, and ensure employee adherence so that work is carried out to the required standard while delivering the required standards of service to customers and stakeholders.
8. Continuous Improvement: Manage and motivate the team to ensure they contribute to, and participate in, the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes and projects in line with the bank\xe2\x80\x99s standards.
9. Customer Service: Demonstrate Our Promise and apply the ADCB Service Standards to deliver the bank\xe2\x80\x99s required levels of service in all internal and external customer interactions.
Skills
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:
Minimum Experience: At least 5 years of experience in Big 4 audit firm
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99 Degree in related field
Professional Qualifications: Chartered Accountant or other equivalent qualification
Knowledge and Skills: Advanced knowledge and understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards with special focus on hedging/derivatives products/capital market products and other treasury related accounting and financial reporting matters Microsoft Office (Excel/word/PowerPoint) Working knowledge of Flex-cube/Desk-top Business Intelligence Core Banking Software Working knowledge of Murex - Treasury system Knowledge of Hyperion - Financial reporting and Consolidation tool
