POSITION OBJECTIVE

Reporting to the Head of Risk Management & Control, the VP Risk Management & Control will assist the team across all aspects of Risk Management as outlined below. The position works closely with the Front Office business of Financing & Staking, and operations staff across the Hex Trust Group. The financing & Staking business supports customers with loans secured by digital assets and by facilitating client staking requirements. As VP RMC key responsibilities will include managing the Credit Risk Governance framework and Operational Risk responsibilities for the team. The role will also support RMC in system development and enhancement, risk reporting and analytics support and improvement activities and projects as assigned by the Head of RMC. The position will challenge oneself to be innovative in looking for threats and weaknesses in the risk profile and how to optimize risk management principles for these developing vanguard products.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible to support the business & perform all credit risk assessments of business transaction proposals.
• Assess & recommend appetite for all loan clients, Principal exposure limits for counterparties & exchanges, counterparty PSR lines and Settlement Risk limits.
• Manage all Risk facets of Loan life-cycle management.
• Work with the business to establish and monitor collateral & DeFi triggers & alerts.
• Review, refine, and enhance the credit scoring methodology for the internal credit rating model.
• Provide quantitative assessment of collateral margin requirements.
• Oversight & reporting for the Credit portfolio & credit exposures. Reporting includes daily portfolio updates and monthly Committee reports.
• Evaluate DeFi protocols for risk appetite and risk mitigation strategies;
• Assess Staking proposals & enhance the Staking appetite framework
• Assist to enhance the enterprise-wide risk management and governance framework, policies & procedures, to help manage and control all risk types, including credit, market & liquidity, and operational risks.
• Participate in the assessment of new alternative asset classes for the New Product Approval process;
• Develop and enhance credit systems including assisting with the implementation of a Loan Management System (LOS) and enhancing credit risk scoring models;
• Helping execute on Operational Risk policies & procedures internally, inclusive of the Group's risk Control Self Assessment program, which may include;

• 1. Business Op Risk Incident Reporting management / coordination
• 2. RCSA programme - assist businesses execute their RCSA responsibilities and ensure they have suitable Operational Procedures in place.
• 3. Op Risk Reporting, Breaches & Metrics
• 4. Op Risk System development
• 5. Op Risk Policy governance framework maintenance
• 6. Enterprise Risk Register
• 7. EUDA register

Requirements:

• Degree holder in Risk Management / Quantitative Finance / Statistics or related discipline;
• At least 6-10 years' relevant work experience in Risk Management within regulated financial institutions required;
• Strong product knowledge on Global Capital Market products;
• Familiarity with digital assets and Blockchain integration is a plus;
• Prior experience & passion in the Digital Asset & DeFi space would be highly beneficial;
• Experienced in Credit Risk assessment, with the ability to conduct and manage through end-to-end credit analysis and internal credit models;
• Strong Excel and VBA skills and knowledge of SQL / Python an advantage;
• Strong interpersonal skills, good team player, detail-minded, self-motivated, able to multitask and able to work under pressure;
• Possesses sound and independent judgment;
• Embodies good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Good negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships;
• Possesses initiative, analytical and is solution driven;
• Keen to learn and keep abreast of the latest developments;
• Strong English is essential and other languages will also be beneficial.
