About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a Design Manager to join Jumeirah Group. The main duties and responsibilities of this role:
General:
Assist in the development and implementation of design standards regarding brand image, brand identity and brand standards.
Assist and advise the consultants during the design process in order to achieve higher design standards.
Ability to select FF&E & materials and recommend local distributor accordingly.
Ensure FF&E pricing are aligned with the overall luxury market segment trends
Assist the Owner to establish the \xe2\x80\x9cArea Programme\xe2\x80\x9d for the hotel which shall meet JG standards.
Ensure that Jumeirah Design Guidelines are implemented throughout the design process of each of the assigned projects.
Assist in any hotel refurbishment project and coordinate with design department throughout the process.
Assist with the preparation of design briefs as required, using PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, CAD (etc.).
Assist to provide design feedback to the relevant consultants\' documents throughout the whole design process from concept design to shop drawings assessment.
Administrational:
Compile a weekly report updating the Head of Department about the assigned projects.
Ensure that proper record is kept of all project procedure and documentation.
Expand the design library and project consultants list on regular basis.
Quality:
Ensure appropriate communication processes are in place.
Demonstrate continued professional development through research of current design trends and future design directions.
Exhibit continued research and meeting with hospitality consultants in order to update the recommended consultants list and follow up on their latest involvement in the hospitality industry.
Be updated of latest industry\'s best practices, innovation, trends, and materials.
Incorporate continuous updates on the best practices and appropriate application of sustainable design to ensure buildings comply with published standards for the hotel.
Maintain an understanding of sustainable construction and building management as required for Green building certification systems such as LEED or BREEAM.
About you:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
Holds a Bachelor Degree in Interior Design from a renowned university.
Has a minimum of 4 years\' experience in Architecture and Interior Design.
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Ability to travel on regular basis.
Proven planning and design skills.
Good knowledge of design computer software\'s (CAD, Adobe Photoshop etc.).
Proven experience and ability in design / specification of FF&E.
