About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for a Manager to join our Human Resources department in Burj Al Arab.

Purpose

Responsible for the provision of generalist human resource support to all hotel departments. Add value to the organization by fostering positive relationships and increasing colleague satisfaction and performance.

Analyze, recommend, implement and evaluate processes, procedures, systems and methods to streamline administration enabling the HR team members to focus on value adding activities.

Assuming responsibility for the HR department in the absence of the HR Director.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role:

Conduct Exit Interviews for departing colleagues and provide summary feedback to HODs and DHR where relevant;

Monitor human resource service standards to strive for best customer service practices based on available resources;

Analyze, recommend, implement and evaluate streamlined processes, procedures, systems and methods for human resource practices to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

Communicate and administer assigned policies, programs and procedures.

Understand UAE\'s Labour Law, ensure observance of all company and regulatory requirements and provide advice to management and colleagues regarding the employment relationship.

Assist with the implementation of effective internal communication tools within the human resource team.

Monitor HR indicators (monthly, year-to-date and historically) to identify trends and provide recommendations for improvement.

Developing Team Capacity

Monitor performance management - reviews and annual appraisals.

Monitor all work improvement discussions.

Provide guidance and coordinate training and development activities (Individual Development Plans IDPs) for colleague.

Development and delivery of training sessions relevant to HR matters for supervisory/management level colleagues.

Communicate and administer assigned policies, programs and procedures.

Develop and implement effective internal communication tools for the Hotel.

Coordinate with the team process related One to One sessions for new hires after 30 days (one month chat).

Advise and assist managers with all colleague relations issues, ensuring proper and accurate documentation for corrective coaching raised.

Provide opportunities for colleagues to discuss typical employment issues, career planning and personal (including Medical + Welfare) issues with a view to increasing job satisfaction and improving performance.

Organize and coordinate major social events and focus groups to improve reward and recognition, internal communications and teamwork; eg Staff annual party, National Day Celebrations in Staff Canteen

Monitor Colleague\'s satisfaction on Food provided by Staff Canteen. Lead discussion during Monthly meeting between Food providers, Food committee representatives. Ensure corrective actions are put in place based on colleague\'s comments to ensure consistency in colleague\'s satisfaction.

Ensure salary and benefits are fairly administered.

Provide information for special projects or requests from support and operational functions

Adhere to Jumeirah\'s Guiding Principles and Hallmarks and to promote them to colleagues on a constant basis, always leading by example.

Drive change, influence transitions, and actively seek and contribute to ideas and solutions for continuous improvement.

Take responsibility for own development and education.

Communicate in a professional, positive, transparent and courteous manner at all times with all levels of internal and external customers.

Handle confidential matters/ information with the appropriate level of sensitivity.

Ensure compliance with all health, hygiene, security, safety and fire regulations and take active part in the Hotel Health and safety meetings.

Perform any related duties and special projects as requested by Director of HR/GM.

Work with the HR Director on the manpower planning and budget.

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

Qualifications

Diploma in Hotel Management or HRM

CIPD highly regarded - desired

Level A and B qualified in British Psychological Society (or other psychometric/ability assessment qualification) - desired

Experience

Hospitality or customer service related industry

5-6 years of progressive professional development in HR

Minimum 3 years of experience as Assistant HR Manager in a large luxury establishment

High volume and specialist recruitment for the hospitality industry

Previous work experience in UAE or Gulf region

Skills and Competencies

Intermediate level - Microsoft Office applications

Competent on HRMS (Oracle highly regarded)

High level of written and verbal business English
