We are now looking for Line Manager - Instrumentation Engineering to execute projects and support bids in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Reports To The Line Manager - Instrumentation Engineering reports to the Head of Engineering. Job Overview The Line Manager - Instrumentation Engineering is responsible for Overall supervision of instrument and control engineers, designers and technical personnel in the execution of the project and development of project deliverables.

In your role, you will Prepare cost, time and resource requirement estimates on assigned projects.

You will be required to manage design change within project budget and schedule framework normally involving a major project or several smaller or less complex projects. These projects by nature of their complexity and difficulty require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in oil & gas. You should have a desire to be at the forefront of the oil and gas sector and deliver outstanding projects.

  • Manage the instrumentation & Control Discipline Engineering functions for the Company
  • Develop and structure the company’s engineering capabilities for the instrumentation & Control Discipline in line with the strategic development plan recognizing that engineering services are required in multiple projects
  • Ensure that all engineering resources for the instrumentation & Control discipline are effectively and efficiently employed and ensure that the duplication of resources across facilities is avoided
  • Plan the human resources for the instrumentation & Control discipline, recruit and deploy the resources as required over various facilities and projects
  • Select and manage appropriate engineering software for the discipline and ensure its effective and efficient utilization
  • Monitor and ensure achievement of key performance indicators for the engineering discipline
  • Ensure client technical engineering requirements are identified and understood and ensure that the Discipline meets its contractual obligations from an engineering perspective in all instances
  • Review basic designs provided by third parties for Engineering Procurement Construction projects to ensure the designs meet the customer’s performance criteria
  • Support projects and production ensuring that engineering deliverables are provided in a timely manner
  • Manage the subcontractors when engineering activities are outsourced or subcontracted
  • Establish and ensure the use of standard engineering details across the organization for the discipline
  • Contribute to the professional development of employees by providing training and mentoring
  • Support the commercial team and provide technical assistance when required for Bids and Proposals
  • Develop the procedures for the engineering discipline in line with Rejlers quality procedures
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of the engineering deliverables for the discipline
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Energy and Environmental objectives
  • Ensure verification of source data, concept drawings / concepts as required.
  • Prepare and finalize the engineering document deliverable register (EDDR) in coordination with all relevant department / discipline, submission date as per Client / Contract requirements.
  • Preparation of all instrument & automation related design deliverables through MS-office, Smart plant tools (SPI), AUTOCAD, Micro-station, and calculation tools like Instrucalc, flowel, etc.
  • Prepare / review the design outputs in the form of design computations, drawings and specification.
  • Review of design document, drawings, etc. issued by various disciplines, design subcontractor and ensure Client’s approval.
  • Responsible to ensure approval of all submitted documents and drawings and necessary coordination with Client.
  • Responsible to ensure unclear issues are resolved with Client through technical query in coordination with inter discipline leads, managers.
  • In coordination with procurement department, ensure that procurement inputs required for design has been obtained from vendor and forwarded to the design subcontractor.
  • Participation of FAT, SAT, commissioning, pre-commissioning.
  • Coordinate for the preparation of as—built.
Qualifications
  • Engineering Graduate (BSc. or MSc.)
  • Minimum of 15 years relevant engineering experience in Instrumentation and Automation competence in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Chemical Industries.
  • Minimum 5 years in a Senior Role managing teams.
  • Telecommunication knowledge would be an added advantage.
  • Must have worked in FEED and EPC projects and delivered to ADNOC Group of Companies
  • Working experience with reputed Engineering Consultant(s) would be an advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player, smart-working, problem solver and can-do attitude
  • Fluent in English language, Arabic speaking would be an added advantage.
