Legal Counsel, Commercial Contracts Taylor Root are currently working for a leading bank in Abu Dhabi, helping them find an experienced Legal Counsel to join their team. The successful candidate will provide legal advice and support to the bank\xe2\x80\x99s commercial transactions (rather than financial) and will work closely with the General Counsel and other corporate commercial lawyers. Role and responsibilities:
  • Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts such as TMT, service agreements, confidentiality, and vendor contracts.
  • Broader parts of the role will additionally over employment, IP, and anything that doesn\xe2\x80\x99t fit into the finance box.
  • Provide legal advice on all aspects of commercial contracts, including contractual interpretation, risk analysis, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide legal support to other departments within the bank as required.
  • Stay up to date with relevant laws and regulations affecting the banking industry.
Candidate requirements:
  • A qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in corporate and commercial contracts, either in-house or at a reputable law firm.
  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry is highly desirable but not a necessity.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working in the Middle East region is preferable.
  • The role will typically be based in Abu Dhabi, but if candidates are already living in Dubai, the client can consider arrangements.
