Job Purpose

L\xe2\x80\x99ECOLE \xe2\x80\x93 School of Jewelry Arts, created in 2012 by Van Cleef & Arpels is coming to Dubai. L\xe2\x80\x99ECOLE\xe2\x80\x99s aim is to spread the culture of jewelry arts to all with courses, exhibitions, kids workshop, talks, conferences and books.

All its activities are organized around three major fields: the history of jewelry, the world of gemstones and the know-how of jewelry making techniques. The classes are practice-based. In know-how the students experiment specific gestures, skills and tools. In art history they have the privilege of admiring antique jewelry from L\xe2\x80\x99ECOLE collections. And in gemology they observe, manipulate and learn to identify the stones using gemologist tools.

With its new Campus in the Middle East, L\xe2\x80\x99ECOLE \xe2\x80\x93 School of Jewelry Arts will contribute to the promotion and visibility of jewelry culture in a region of cultural effervescence. The opening of L\xe2\x80\x99ECOLE campus in Dubai will be celebrated with the world premiere exhibition.

L\xe2\x80\x99ECOLE is currently looking for Exhibition Docents to lead tours and interact with the visitors

by sharing knowledge about displayed exhibits. The Docent will be part of a dynamic team

and serve as an ambassador of L\xe2\x80\x99\xc3\x89COLE to welcome visitors, provide guided tours and

educational information to the public, ensuring a rewarding experience for all guests.

Main duties:

• Welcome visitors upon arrival and process registration

• Provide exhibition guided tours in both private and public settings, in various

languages (English, preferably Arabic)

• Provide information on L\xe2\x80\x99\xc3\x89COLE\xe2\x80\x99s programs and activities to visitors

• Support special events at L\xe2\x80\x99\xc3\x89COLE (private tours, opening ceremonies, press days,

conversations etc.)

Requirements:

• Good knowledge in jewelry and specifically gemology

• Excellent command of spoken English, Arabic would be an advantage

• Delighted to meet visitors of all ages and share the passion for arts and culture

• Outgoing, welcoming, and proactive personality

• Experience in client service industries would be an advantage

• Flexibility in work schedule; available to work on weekends and public holidays
