Job Summary Responsible for improving the efficiency of business operations through implementation of Lean Manufacturing goals and strategies for improving the operations and processes within the organization. Duties include maximizing productivity while simultaneously minimizing waste within the manufacturing operation and making recommendations for operational changes. The Lean and Manufacturing Systems Specialist will develop and implement Factory Automation, Business Transformation, and continuous improvement strategy with sensitivity towards the organizational structure, culture, people, and processes. You will be responsible for outlining and deployment of the Lean framework to ensure consistent and rigorous application across the business in line with best practice, conducting deep-dive into processes and practices to improve overall Business performance You will also be responsible for identifying and implementing Factory Automation solutions to increase productivity and efficiency in the team. Responsible for the successful management and implementation of business improvement projects/initiatives across the business by developing an enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible team and building working relationships ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to. The aim is to make changes to processes, people, or systems (technology) to better align the company with its business strategy and vision. You should be comfortable with ambiguity, capable of working in a fast-paced environment, continuously improving technical skills to meet business needs, possess strong attention to detail, and be able to collaborate across the enterprise to understand and transform business problems into requirements and deliverables. In this Role, Your responsibilities will be:
  • Identifying operational requirements and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate across different organizations and world areas to ensure the Lean enterprise practices can be leveraged across Emerson
  • Confer with the senior and other related personnel to create designs and to clarify and resolve any relevant issues
  • Develop methods that would help in reducing the cost without compromising on the quality standards to ensure increased efficiency and quality and make recommendations
  • Responsible to achieve cost effective designs and to carry out research, design, and development work of the manufacturing process that would include assembly methods, production flow and production equipment.
  • Contribute to Factory Automation, Plant Digitalization and Manufacturing Systems Implementation
  • Implementation of Standard Operating Procedures to all shop floor processes
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice Lean vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Lean activities
  • Develop, deliver, and support delivery of business improvement change initiatives and contribute towards improvement standards in line with best practices.
  • Build, develop and maintain data models, reporting systems, dashboards, and performance metrics
  • Responsible for establishing, identifying and implementing Factory Automation projects looking out next 5 years.
  • Initiate Business decision making on operational efficiency.
  • Facilitate the implementation of Lean tools and principles such as Value Stream Mapping, Bottleneck Analysis, Just-in-Time, 5S, OEE, PDCA, RCA
  • Perform Lean health checks, workplace audits and streamlining processes within the area of responsibility
  • Prepares and maintains detailed layouts, designs, develops, tests, and cost justifies various tools, equipment, and machinery that may be required for various manufacturing processes.
  • Reviews manufacturing areas for potential safety hazards and makes sure that all the safety practices are being followed while implementing the new processes.
  • Explore opportunity for Operational and core transformation business transformation
  • Work closely with management to identify, develop, and execute data analysis to uncover areas of continuous improvement and cost reduction
  • Tracking the progress of operational changes that are implemented across the company through key performance indicators
  • Responsible for driving 5s+1 throughout operations
  • Develop and maintain accurate business reports and KPIs, share data with Management, Finance, and other relevant departments
  • Initiate organization current state of Value Steam Mapping and coach teams in awareness and visibility of wastes for future mapping of VSM and drive Lean improvement projects as well as implement YTD VSM tracking system.
  • Support Intelligent Automation project for effective implementation
  • Lead and Drive Safety improvement projects through Lean processes
  • Provide training to supervisors and operators and incorporates quality checks and balances the workflow to increase the productivity
  • Provide Lean management training to all employees

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a Engineering function, or related fields
  • 5+ Years of experience of Lean manufacturing role.
  • Experience in handling Automation Projects
  • IT Skills. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Experience in manufacturing or engineering environments
  • A demonstrated working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma in the manufacturing field with good project management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into analyses and actionable insights
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lean Certification through an accredited organization
  • Membership of an industry related professional body would be advantageous
  • Understanding different business functional areas and roles
  • Strong computer and CAD skills preferred
