Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently looking for a Lead Piping Engineer to join our team in Dubai, UAE.

• Lead and manage the piping engineering
• Single-point responsibility for all piping deliverables and ensure that they conform to all applicable engineering codes and standards as well as the Client\xe2\x80\x99s policies and procedure
• Participate in all project safety and design reviews as necessary.
• Ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule
• Promote safe behaviour at all times
• Provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline
• Assist in the coordination of all activities related to piping deliverables
• Identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and / or quality and recommend corrective actions as required
• Attend weekly progress meetings and generate status reports for the Engineering / Project Manager
• Aware of piping stress analysis requirements and supports details as per applicable codes and standards
• Check and approve design philosophies, specifications, pipe supports, standard detail drawings, MTO and material requisitions in accordance with the project scope of work and contract
• Aware of plant layout requirements is necessary

Skills / Qualifications

• Bachelor honours degree in a relevant engineering discipline from recognized institution
• Professional Accreditation from recognized institute preferred
• Minimum of 15 years experience in the oil and gas industry
• Extensive PMC experience preferred
• Experience working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred
• Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
• Thorough awareness of relevant international codes and standards
