We are now looking for Senior/Lead Piping Engineer to execute projects and support bids in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Reports To The Senior/Lead Piping Engineer reports to the Head of Engineering Department. Job Overview The Senior/Lead Piping Engineer should have a proven track record in maintaining proper resourcing in terms of capacity and competence as well as in organizing projects with proper work sharing, tracking of progress & coordination with other disciplines and counterparts/client. In your role, you will be responsible for leading projects (as Lead Engineer) as and when required, handling engineering design review and analysis assignments normally involving a major projects or several smaller or less complex projects. These projects by nature of their complexity and difficulty require the fully competent application of conventional and specific knowledge in oil & gas.
In your role you will execute piping engineering projects in safe manner, budget, schedule and quality. You should have a desire to work on multi discipline local as well overseas projects and be able to drive discipline goals by leading assigned discipline designers and engineers. Responsibilities and Duties
  • Manage the Piping & Layout Discipline Engineering functions for the Company
  • Develop and structure the company’s engineering capabilities for the Piping & Layout Discipline in line with the strategic development plan recognizing that engineering services are required in multiple projects
  • Ensure that all engineering resources for the Piping & Layout discipline are effectively and efficiently employed and ensure that the duplication of resources across facilities is avoided
  • Plan the human resources for the Piping & Layout discipline, recruit and deploy the resources as required over various facilities and projects
  • Select and manage appropriate engineering software for the discipline and ensure its effective and efficient utilization
  • Monitor and ensure achievement of key performance indicators for the engineering discipline
  • Ensure client technical engineering requirements are identified and understood and ensure that the Discipline meets its contractual obligations from an engineering perspective in all instances
  • Review basic designs provided by third parties for Engineering Procurement Construction projects to ensure the designs meet the customer’s performance criteria
  • Support projects and production ensuring that engineering deliverables are provided in a timely manner
  • Manage the subcontractors when engineering activities are outsourced or subcontracted
  • Establish and ensure the use of standard engineering details across the organization for the discipline
  • Contribute to the professional development of employees by providing training and mentoring
  • Support the commercial team and provide technical assistance when required for Bids and Proposals
  • Develop the procedures for the engineering discipline in line with Rejlers quality procedures
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of the engineering deliverables for the discipline
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Energy and Environmental objectives
  • Interact with the Head of Engineering for solving technical problems arising during project development
  • Ability to review Client's technical documentation and requirements, interpret topographical and geotechnical survey inputs, carry out detailed site surveys, verification and data collection;
  • Able to do selection study, location study, tie-in and feasibility study, design basis, independently able to develop piping deliverables, scope of work, definition report, material grade selection, specifications, data sheets, requisitions, piping engineering calculations, stress analysis evaluation and approval, technical bid evaluation, vendor document review, MTO
  • Must have good knowledge of ASME 31.3 and extensive experience with ADNOC / Shell DEP standards
  • Must have good knowledge and understanding of piping drawings (layouts, GA’s, supports, isometrics, etc.)
  • Able to organize inputs and supervise for preparation of piping drawings, support design, material take offs, calculations, stress analysis, material specifications, data sheets and material requisitions as per ASME 31.3
  • Mandatory software skills in SP3D / PDMS / ACAD / NAVIS and able to review piping design
  • Clash solving and route optimization
  • Understand the interface within multi-discipline project
  • Should take full responsibility of proper and timely execution of project deliverable ensuring full compliance with quality management system and any project specific contractual requirements.
  • Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines and project management teams.
  • Coordinate within members of piping discipline, other engineering disciplines within the organization or project team as well as with Clients, third parties, vendors etc.
  • Participates in progress review meetings and be aware of project status, progress, delays, change notices, performance measurement, lessons learned and close-out.
  • Ability to prepare documents for piping related workshops and actively participate in same
  • Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, material quantity and budget control
  • Takes personal responsibility for safety and a healthy environment on the projects
  • Is able to produce proposals for projects which involve man hour and schedule estimates for piping discipline
  • Should be able to add value plus/ optimization ideas
  • Cooperating with other engineering disciplines, customers and subcontractors locally or overseas
  • Able to do Technical Bid Evaluations of selected Vendor Offers
  • Check and approve all the piping engineering deliverables
  • Able to go for site visit and site visit report preparation
  • Provide guidance and training to less experienced engineers
Qualifications
  • Engineering Graduate (BEng, BSc. or MSc.) in Mechanical or Technical related degree.
  • Minimum of 14 years relevant engineering experience in Lead Piping Engineering and ASME B31.3
  • Good verbal as well as written communication skills, leadership and coordination, analytic and pro-active approach competence in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Chemical Industries.
  • Willingness to overcome challenges and pressure during peak of project.
  • Willing to do extensive site-surveys during project execution.
  • UAE local experience is added value.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluent in the English language
