Due to anticipated growth throughout 2022, Wood is currently inviting applications for Lead Piping Engineer with experience in oil&gas industry to be based in UAE

Below are some key responsibilities and duties:

Responsibilities:

+ Continuous promotion of, and adherence to, the discipline specific procedures and providing feedback for continuous improvement

+ Support the development and delivery of the technical assurance framework

+ Monitor compliance with competence standards

+ Participate in incident investigations as required

+ Set performance expectations for direct reports

+ Actively maintaining own competence and continuous development

+ Provide discipline support to the business

+ Ensuring learning opportunities are captured and realized

+ Knowledge of relevant regulatory framework and legislation

+ Proficient in scope definition

+ Be part of PMT client team overseeing EPC contractors

+ Oversee Piping Engineering work being carried out by EPC contractors for major greenfield and brownfield projects as part of the Clients PMT

+ Promote effective communication and challenge within the EPC Contractors Engineering team in order to foster the production of safe, cost effective, fit for purpose and constructible Piping designs

+ Provide technical leadership and decision making for Piping engineering work carried out by the EPC contractors

+ To participate in all project safety and design reviews as necessary

+ To provide technical assistance, direction, and support during the construction and installation activities

+ To liaise and report to the Client's Senior Management on Piping Engineering Progress and Issues

+ Trouble - shooting the Piping design, identifying and resolving issues with engineering and / or fabricator by raising and resolution of Site / Technical Queries

+ To attend daily / weekly engineering progress meetings and generate status reports as required

+ Management of Change process including review of proposals

+ Assist construction personnel with general technical queries and details

+ Collaborates with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees

+ Provides resolution for technical Piping engineering problems, coordinates application of solutions

+ To ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule

Proposals experience

+ Significant experience in preparation of proposals for Studies, FEED, Detail Engineering projects.

+ Experience in Upstream Oil & Gas, Gas Treating and Sulphur processing, Refining, Petrochemical, Utilities and Offsites, Flare And Relief Design, Waste Water Treatment

+ Review of ITT/RFQ documentation and interpret the scope of work for small, medium and large size projects

+ Take ownership and command of proposal, including written proposals, presentations etc.

+ Prepare / collate manhours for the proposal

+ Collaborating with centres of excellence and other affiliate offices as required to prepare a winning proposal

+ Liaise with subcontractors, vendors & OEMs to obtain the costs for their services

+ Liaise with technology providers / Licensors as required for the proposals

+ Provide customer responses (including expressions of interest, presentations, etc)

+ Ensure that the proposal is compliant and delivered on time.

+ Prepare/Review/analyze proposal sections for consistency and clarity, compliance with solicitation, requirements, and alignment with proposed solutions and themes and writes/re-writes proposal sections as necessary to deliver high-quality, winning proposals.

+ Respond to requests for clarification

+ Prepare and deliver presentations (pre-proposal or post-proposal) to Clients and other internal stakeholders

+ Take on responsibility of Proposal Lead or Proposal Coordinator as required due to workload of proposals team including (but not limited to) the following:

+ Develop and implement the proposal management plan (responsibility/compliance matrix)

+ Develop and implement the proposal schedule

+ Support and contribute to the continual improvement of proposal procedures and processes

+ Minimum of 15 years' experience in the oil and gas industry mainly being offshore downstream

+ Minimum of 5 years proven capability in an engineering design company

+ Demonstrated leadership experience and previous track record of successfully working in PMC team

+ Experience of working with multi - national and multi - cultural project teams is strongly preferred

+ Previous experience of working for Wood is strongly preferred

+ Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage

+ Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering
