Job Summary:

EGEC Qatar is looking for a highly skilled Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join our on-site team in Doha. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical design within the engineering consultancy field, with strong technical and coordination capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the mechanical design process for building services (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting). Ensure compliance with international and Qatari mechanical codes and standards. Prepare and review detailed design drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (electrical, structural, architectural). Supervise junior engineers and CAD/BIM technicians. Attend project coordination and client meetings. Support site teams during project execution when required.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting). Strong proficiency in Revit MEP and BIM software (mandatory). Excellent command of AutoCAD, HAP, DuctSizer, PipeSizer, and other HVAC design tools. Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus). Previous experience in Qatar is preferred. UPDA certificate is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

Leadership and team management skills. Strong communication and negotiation abilities. Familiarity with Qatari regulations and local authority submission processes.
