To plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality cricket coaching sessions for children aged 5-18, supporting their technical, tactical, physical, and personal development. The coach will ensure an enjoyable, inclusive, and safe environment that encourages lifelong participation in cricket.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching & Delivery
Plan and deliver age-appropriate coaching sessions for children aged 5-18.
Deliver sessions aligned with the organisation's player development framework.
Adapt coaching methods to suit different age groups and abilities.
Provide clear demonstrations, constructive feedback, and player-centred instruction.
Foster a positive learning environment where fun, safety, and skill development are prioritised.
Player Development
Teach core cricket skills: batting, bowling, fielding, game understanding, teamwork.
Support physical literacy and movement development in younger participants (5-8).
Help players build confidence, resilience, and respect for the game and others.
Identify and support talented players, liaising with senior coaches where appropriate.
Establish clear pathways from the programme into local cricket opportunities with clubs in the community.
Programme Administration
Maintain accurate attendance records.
Support programme planning, holiday camps, after-school clubs, and match days.
Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, schools, and club staff.
Assist with equipment management.
Manage payment records using Excel or Google shared area.
Safeguarding & Welfare
Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and child-protection policies always.
Ensure all activity areas and equipment are safe and appropriate.
Report welfare concerns promptly and appropriately.
Professional Conduct
Act as a positive role model for all young players.
Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and high coaching standards.
Participate in CPD (continuing professional development) sessions and staff training.
Promote inclusivity and ensure equal opportunities for all participants
Essential Qualifications & Experience
ECB Level 2 / Core Coach qualification (or equivalent).
Valid Enhanced DBS/Criminal Records Check or UAE equivalent.
Safeguarding Children certification.
First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).
Experience coaching children or young people in a cricket or sports environment.
Ability to engage and motivate young players.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
ECB Foundation I Coach qualification .
Experience working across primary and secondary school settings.
Knowledge of player development models (e.g., ECB Player Pathway, LTAD).
Experience coaching mixed-ability or inclusive groups.
Ability to organise small festivals, games, or junior matches.
