We are looking for an experienced and inspiring

Lead Athletics Coach

to join AIS Athletics and lead the design and delivery of a high-quality athletics programme across all levels, from fundamentals to elite.

This role is ideal for a senior coach who is passionate about athlete development and performance. You will take the lead in designing and implementing the coaching curriculum, overseeing athlete progress, contributing to the strategic direction of athletics, and supporting the growth of your coaching team. Key Objectives

Develop and implement a comprehensive coaching curriculum that addresses the needs of athletes at different performance levels. Regularly evaluate and refine the curriculum to ensure it meets the latest standards and best practices in athletics coaching Oversee the operations of the athletics development program, focusing on the growth and performance of athletes at all levels. Collaborate with coaches and support staff to implement training plans and monitor athlete progress to achieve competitive success Assist in the recruitment and selection process for coaching staff within the development pathways. Identify potential candidates, conduct interviews, and ensure new hires align with the organization's vision and values Participate in the Technical Athletics Committee, contributing to the development of the philosophy and strategic direction for athletics within ESM Academies. Engage in regular meetings to discuss best practices, new initiatives, and performance outcomes Identify and organise seminars focused on quality and technique to motivate and elevate the skills of individuals within the development pathways. Manage the budget for these events and ensure the content is relevant and beneficial for all participants

Assistant Leader: For those new to coaching, volunteers, or parents looking to assist coaches Level 1: Suitable for beginner coaches, teachers, and volunteers, providing foundational skills in organising and leading basic athletics activities Level 2: For coaches seeking to develop their knowledge and experience to coach at a higher level Level 3: For experienced coaches working with performance athletes, focusing on advanced coaching skills and strategies Level 4 and above: For coaches aiming to coach elite athletes, focusing on advanced performance strategies, macrocycle planning, and high-level competition

Desired Experience

Proven experience in a related field, demonstrating a track record of success in coaching and athlete development

Job-Specific Knowledge and Skills

High-level IT skills, including proficiency in using CRM systems for athlete management and communication Strong customer service and relationship management skills to effectively engage with athletes, parents, and other stakeholders Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the role, ensuring trust and integrity within the team Confidence and capability to develop strong relationships with athletes and staff to foster collaboration and a positive training environment
