Lead Ammonia Refrigeration Plant Technician - Utilities & Maintenance
Job Summary:
To operate, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial
ammonia refrigeration systems
and other utility equipment to ensure smooth plant operations. The technician will also coordinate with subcontractors and ensure system safety and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and perform maintenance on ammonia compressors, evaporators, chillers, and condensers
Respond immediately to any faults or issues in the ammonia refrigeration system
Carry out routine servicing of plant utilities such as:
Compressed air systems
Steam boilers
Chilled water systems
Water booster pumps
Fire alarm and pump systems
Monitor and control SCADA/BMS systems; troubleshoot alarms and ensure logging of daily readings
Supervise and coordinate with subcontractors (e.g., Adearest) for external repair/maintenance work
Maintain detailed logs and reports related to maintenance, spare parts used, and system performance
Ensure safety protocols (especially ammonia safety) are strictly followed
Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma/Certification in Mechanical, HVAC or Refrigeration Engineering
5+ years of relevant experience in ammonia-based refrigeration systems
Hands-on experience with SCADA/BMS and utility systems
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work under pressure and in rotating shifts
Good communication and reporting abilities
